Atlantic City FC kicked off their home season with a thrilling 3-1 victory over FC Monmouth at Stockton University. The match took place on a perfect, 70° evening, with a highly engaged home crowd cheering on the Aces.
In the 32nd minute, center-back Andre Sardinha opened the scoring for Atlantic City FC. Sardinha rose highest from a well-delivered corner kick and headed the ball into the back of the net, giving the Aces an early lead.
However, FC Monmouth fought back and managed to equalize in the 42nd minute through a goal by John Toriano. The game remained level as both teams battled for dominance on the field.
As the second half progressed, Atlantic City FC made some impactful substitutions that turned the tide in their favor. In the 77th minute, substitute Tommy Mollis found the back of the net, putting the Aces in the lead once again.
With the home crowd behind them, Atlantic City FC pushed forward and continued to create scoring opportunities. In the 87th minute, another substitute, Kevin Kiernan, sealed the victory for the Aces by scoring their third goal of the game.
The final whistle blew, confirming a well-deserved 3-1 victory for Atlantic City FC. The team celebrated their home opener triumphantly, acknowledging the support of their dedicated fans in the stands.
Atlantic City FC’s next match will be against the Jackson Lions in Toms River, New Jersey on Saturday, June 3. They will then return to Stockton University for their next home game on Saturday, June 17 at 7 PM, where they will face off against First State FC.
